Gary Memorial United Methodist Church Directions
- Gary Memorial is located in the "gone but not forgotten" town of Daniels, now a part of Ellicott City, Maryland in Howard County. Once a thriving mill town dating back before the Civil War, only the ruins of the mill destroyed by Hurricane Agnes in 1972 and the church high above on "Standfast Hill" remain.
Situated now inside Patapsco Valley State Park, the area is a favorite recreational spot for hikers, anglers, kayakers, and horseback riders. Some of our members first spotted the Gary Memorial Church's spire while hiking along the South Branch of the Patapsco River which flows over a dam below the church.
It is hard to imagine a more beautiful and serene spot, away from traffic and other distractions, to worship God. Make the trip and see for yourself.
